Editorial
Editorial policy
How Fashionreps assigns subject ownership, evaluates sources, separates evidence from opinion, uses automation, manages commercial conflicts, and corrects published content.
Purpose and scope
This policy applies to editorial notes, product reviews, comparisons, recommendations, category guidance, and other content that includes analysis or judgment. Basic catalog pages may organize third-party product information without constituting an editorial review.
Our purpose is to help readers understand the available evidence, important product characteristics, meaningful limitations, and questions that may require further verification before purchase.
Authorship and category responsibility
Editorial work is assigned according to each author’s defined category coverage. The assigned editor is responsible for researching the topic, assessing relevant evidence, distinguishing fact from opinion, and preparing the final content published under that author’s name.
Author profiles explain areas of coverage and provide access to published work. A named reviewer is displayed only when another person has actually completed that review; we do not create fictitious reviewer credits.
Sources and evidence
Sources may include independently purchased products, original photographs, documented measurements, supplier listings, brand or manufacturer information, dated QC references, public documentation, and prior editorial records. The reliability and limitations of each source are considered before it is used to support a material claim.
Supplier descriptions and promotional statements are not treated as independently verified facts unless supported by additional evidence. Subjective observations—such as scent, comfort, fit, or perceived finish—should be identified as editorial experience rather than universal fact.
Editorial workflow
The assigned editor gathers relevant material, checks the identity and scope of the product, evaluates the available evidence, records significant observations, and prepares the final text. Review-style conclusions must reflect the evidence available for the specific product and must not extend beyond the scope of the examination performed.
Detailed hands-on procedures, sample disclosures, category-specific criteria, and evidence limitations are described on How we test.
Automation and AI assistance
Automated tools may assist with collecting, sorting, translating, and organizing product specifications, listing information, QC references, and other background material. They do not replace hands-on evaluation, source verification, editorial judgment, or independent authorship.
The assigned editor remains responsible for checking factual statements, interpreting first-hand observations, identifying uncertainty, and writing the final published content. We do not publish invented tests, scores, measurements, ownership claims, or quotations.
Commercial independence
Affiliate relationships, advertising, provided samples, sponsorships, and paid arrangements do not guarantee inclusion, favorable coverage, or a recommendation. Material commercial relationships should be disclosed where they may affect how readers understand the content. See our affiliate disclosure.
Corrections and updates
Product listings, prices, availability, QC resources, and third-party terms may change. Substantive correction requests are assessed against identifiable sources, dated evidence, and recorded observations. When reliable evidence supports a material correction, the affected content should be updated.
Readers and relevant parties may submit corrections through our contact page. Commercial pressure does not determine whether a correction is accepted or how an editorial conclusion is written.
